Descripción

Start exploring the amazing old part of Nesebar by discovering one of the symbols of the city — the windmill built in the Bulgarian Renaissance period. This place is a starting point for the Nesebar parade, an annual event for vintage cars and motorcycle lovers. Wander among the ruins of the Western fortress wall: they are 100 meters long and about eight meters high. The uniqueness of the wall lies in its mixed masonry called opus mixtum. Discover the Byzantine bath — an outstanding architectural piece of work left by the Romans. As written records state, the Byzantine emperor himself took procedures here. Admire the Byzantine-styled church of Christ Pantocrator built in XIII-XIV centuries which is used as an art gallery today. Marvel around the ruins of the Church of Saint Sofia built to replace the destroyed temple of Apollo — find a marble table on one of the façade’s walls with the quote from the Bible: “And let my cry come to you.” Have a look at the Church of Saint Paraskeva named after a Christian great martyr who suffered death for her faith. Enjoy its fascinating façades with geometric decorations and early Christian symbols: the fish, the sun, and the crosses. Have a walk across the picturesque Saint George's Square and listen to the story of Saint George's Day, one of the most cheerful and beautiful holidays of the spring, connected to agriculture and farming. Finish your trip by visiting the amazing Amphitheatre, the venue for cultural events.
