In order to utilize contactless stored value cards on JR Kyushu trains and buses, the Sugoca IC card was introduced. Travel across the Kyushu area more quickly and easily without having to deal with currency or making sure you are paying the right cost. You may use the Sugoca IC card in some vending machines, convenience stores, and even restaurants as it comes pre-loaded with JPY 1,500 for transit expenses and JPY 500 for the first deposit.
